GeoPark Swabian Alb

The GeoPark Swabian Alb is part of the network of European Geoparks and is designated as a UNESCO World Geopark site.
Die Swabian Alb has more caves than any other region in Germany and during the ice age these provided a special habitat for animals; they were also used by stone-age humans and have contributed to the Swabian Alb being regarded as one of the cradles of human culture.
The Alb-Danube District with its many caves is part of the “GeoPark Swabian Alb”. The remarkable finds from the Lone Valley caves and around Blaubeuren are known worldwide. You will also find several GeoPark information points in the region which offer an introduction to the world of the GeoPark Swabian Alb.
