Cycling on the Alb and along the Danube

The Swabian Alb offers numerous possibilities for cycling and mountain biking: well-balanced tours, easy valley tours or more strenuous training tours in the hills for keen cyclists.
All cycle routes are embedded in the diverse countryside of the Danube and the Swabian Alb; a landscape rich in rivers, valleys, rocky outcrops, juniper heaths, meadows and forests.
Thousands of kilometres of signposted bike trails on the Swabian Alb and along the Danube offer the best conditions for diverse bike tours.
The Danube, the second longest river in Europe, provides a link between the people and cultures of ten countries. The 700 km stretch of the “German Danube” runs from Donaueschingen to Passau. Part of the well-known Danube bike trail runs through the Alb-Danube District from Munderkingen via Ehingen, Erbach, Schelklingen, Blaubeuren and Blaustein to Ulm.
The European cycle route network EuroVelo route 6: “Atlantic-Black Sea river route”, runs through our region along the Danube.
